Q. Will I have to buy a fancy new toothbrush?
A. No, there is no need to buy a new toothbrush. 
The challenge is designed to improve your oral hygiene and general health by showing you how to use your toothbrush, floss and interdental brushes effectively so that you can clean your smile and prevent dental diseases.

The 28 Day Smile does recommend the use of a power toothbrush as advised by the Department of Health, however technique is of upmost importance and you can definitely complete the challenge using a manual toothbrush.
Q. I don't have a lot of time right now. Do I have to complete the challenge in 28 consecutive days?
A. Honestly, for most people there is never a good time to start something new or to take on a new challenge.
We all have busy lives with lots happening each month, between family life, work and social commitments choosing any 28 days to start your challenge can be difficult.
We have made this challenge as easy as possible.
The longest video is our exclusive Clean in 15, guiding you through the ultimate oral care routine.
Providing you dedicate 4-5 minutes each day to your smile, to implement the changes demonstrated in 'Clean in 15' watching the 28 consecutive tutorials is not essential.
However the daily video's are hugely beneficial to watch weather consecutively or over a longer period of time, they each outline a different aspect of oral hygiene care, giving you the knowledge to needed to care for your smile daily.

For best results we advise following The 28 Day Smile as recommended.
Q. I don't like using floss, will I really have to use it or can I just skip this part and concentrate on toothbrushing?
A. This is your challenge, do to your way, however if you only do half of the work, it should be of no surprise that you will only get half of the results possible.
​By reading this Q & A section, you must have spent some time thinking about the challenge, now comes the time to commit.
The Clean in 15 tutorial is followed by short daily video's to maintain your motivation, by learning why flossing is so important you'd be surprised how many people begin to realise it's significance and start to incorporate interdental cleaning into their daily routine, plus there is no feeling like a super clean healthy smile to set you up for the day ahead. 
Q. Will the challenge help with my bad breath?
A. Firstly, this is a virtual challenge, it would be unprofesional to answer such a question without acknolidging  the need for a thorough dental examination to determine the cause of halitosis (bad breath). 
The advice given in The 28 Day Smile is general advice and not tailored to each individual.
However oral hygiene advice in principle does not change between each individual, toothbrushing, flossing the use of interdental brushes is the same. 
The 28 Day Smile has been created with every dentition in mind, with over a decade of experience Kirsty has been mindful to include all eventualities that she has encountered to ensure the program can be implemented by each individual that chooses to invest in their smile.
Q. Where does the 28 day smile's advice come from?
The 28 Day Smile's guidance is in accordance with the Department of Healths' Delivering Better Oral Health: an Evidence-Based Toolkit for Prevention.
A Government document that advised on what advice the dental profession should be providing to their patients.
Q. Why did Kirsty create the 28 day smile?
Kirsty Shaw BSc the Dental Hygiene Therapist behind The 28 Day Smile created the program to help her patients maintain optimum oral hygiene in maintinance phase of their gum health treatment between appointments. 
During her research for the program she became aware that there was nothing like this for the population at large. Kirsty could see the potential of helping patients outside of her practice in South Wales, by creating The 28 Day Smile she was able to invite anyone who wanted to invest in their smile to do so. ​
